Next verified event
Saturday, November 7, 2026 — Santa Monica, CA (City Yards). 9am–2pm. E-waste only — plus mattresses and paper shredding. HHW is NOT accepted at this event. Santa Monica residents only. Venue: confirm the address on the city's event page — we do not publish an unverified street address.
City notes
This one-day recycling event is run by the City of Santa Monica. For household hazardous waste, Santa Monica has no public drop-off center: the city replaced its old City Yards HHW center with a free door-to-door collection programme (by appointment, residents only), and also runs quarterly e-waste recycling events and household-battery drop-off sites citywide — dates and sites are on the city's page.
Nearest permanent centers
UCLA S.A.F.E. Center (West LA) and Hyperion S.A.F.E. Center (Playa del Rey) take HHW year-round. Permanent centers are the fallback when there is no one-day event soon — see the centers list for hours and exceptions for each one.
