What is accepted

Household hazardous waste: batteries, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, paint, chemicals, cleaners, oils, sharps, medications, pest and pool products, and propane tanks. Residential limit: 15 gallons or 125 lbs. See what counts as HHW.

Not accepted

E-waste is not handled here — the city directs TVs, computers and other electronics to the Glendale Recycling Center. Business waste is not accepted. Solar panels are not accepted at county HHW events or permanent centers.

Transport limit

The LA County HHW programme's transport limit is 15 gallons or 125 lbs per trip (LA County DPW programme guidance). Pack items upright, keep them in their original containers where possible, and never mix chemicals. Acceptance and limits vary by centre — confirm before you go.
