LA County battery drop-off network

LA County Library Battery Drop-Off Network

Designated LA County Library branches and additional county collection sites accept household batteries for recycling, year-round.

Area

County-wide (designated library branches and county collection sites). We do not publish a street address here because it was not verified for this guide — get the exact address from the official listing linked below.

Hours & exceptions

Ongoing. Branch hours vary — check with the library location before you go. The list of designated branches and county collection sites is on the CleanLA page linked below.

What is accepted

Household batteries only. How to recycle batteries safely.

Not accepted

No other HHW or e-waste at library drop-off points — use a S.A.F.E. Center, a county permanent center or a one-day county event for paint, oil, electronics and everything else. Solar panels are not accepted at county HHW events or permanent centers.

Transport limit

The LA County HHW programme's transport limit is 15 gallons or 125 lbs per trip (LA County DPW programme guidance). Pack items upright, keep them in their original containers where possible, and never mix chemicals. Acceptance and limits vary by centre — confirm before you go.

Before you go

Wipe personal data first: wipe a laptop, wipe a phone, handle old hard drives.
