How county events work
- Free to LA County residents; held weekly, usually Saturdays, rotating between cities.
- Transport limit: 15 gallons or 125 lbs per trip.
- Accepted: HHW (paint, oil, batteries, bulbs) and e-waste (TVs, computers, phones).
- Not accepted: solar panels are not accepted at county HHW events or permanent centers.
Local prep note: if a drive is dead or you need files back before a wipe, plan that step before event day — see the laptop wipe guide and old hard drives guide for the free DIY route first. Starbase Computer (South Pasadena) — this guide's publisher — is a local option if you need data recovery or verified destruction instead.
